Michael began his career with a major California Bank and work in bank operations, management and lending. He managed consumer loan division where he was responsible several auto, boat and mobile home dealers. This experience resulted in his becoming very proficient at analyzing Financial Statement, preparing budgets, projections, forecasts and cash flows.
He worked in the stock brokerage industry as a stock broker and analysis. He obtained a series 7 and was one of the first in California to receive a CFP designation through the College of Financial Planning. During this time he received a California teaching credential in Banking and Finance.
Michael taught Banking and Finance classes at community colleges in Northern California for eight years. He spent time doing consulting for auto dealers before moving to Sacrament. He worked for a small public company first as Controller and then as the CFO. In addition to being responsible for all the accounting functions including audits, he was responsible for preparation of all Financial Statements, 10K’s, 10Q’s and other required government reporting requirements.
During this time he analyzed merger and acquisition opportunities for the company, negotiating terms for viable candidates. He also prepared all budgets, projections and forecast for the company and tracked results. Later he started an entertainment business which he grew into one of the largest Karaoke providers in the United States.
He owned and operated “AQBExpert” providing bookkeeping, accounting, training and related services. Having worked with Quickbooks since 1991 he began training and teaching QuickBooks to clients as well as the general public. Between 2005 and 2008 he traveled all of the country teaching QuickBooks classes, before joining BBRS Strategic Advisors an affiliated of Bunning, Bowmen, Ridley and Smith LLP CPA’s in Sacramento. He currently serves as COO and works as a business architect. He also serves as acting CFO and on the board of directors of two start-up companies.
